I’m Lynette McDonald, a registered Australian Civil Marriage Celebrant, and I would be honoured to be part of your special day. My approach is warm, relaxed, and genuine, with just the right touch of humour to create a ceremony that feels meaningful, personal, and enjoyable for everyone involved. I believe every couple is unique, and your ceremony should reflect your personalities, your story, and the life you are building together. Whether you’re dreaming of something traditional, modern, laid-back, romantic, or a little unconventional, I’ll work closely with you to create a ceremony that feels authentic and memorable. I also love incorporating meaningful rituals such as handfasting and other symbolic elements that add depth and individuality to your celebration. My journey to becoming a celebrant began with my own wedding in 2018. Due to unforeseen delays, our ceremony needed to be pushed back by an hour. Rather than letting it overshadow the day, we embraced the moment and changed our plans. With our guests and photographer already there, we decided to begin with photographs instead. The sun was shining, everyone relaxed into the atmosphere, and by the time the ceremony started, the energy felt calm, joyful, and effortless. Looking back, it became one of the most memorable parts of our wedding and reminded me how important it is to stay flexible, calm under pressure, and focused on what truly matters – celebrating love and creating meaningful memories. That experience sparked something in me. I’ve always loved bringing people together through events, celebrations, and social gatherings, and becoming a celebrant felt like a natural next step. One of the things I enjoy most is meeting new people and creating experiences that leave a lasting impression. Being a professional celebrant means my focus is entirely on you – supporting you throughout the planning process and ensuring your ceremony runs smoothly on the day itself. Outside of weddings, I’m someone who genuinely loves life and embraces adventure. Music is a huge part of my world, and I’m always searching for the perfect playlist to suit the mood. I love discovering new places, sharing great food and drinks with friends, and making the most of every experience – whether that’s a champagne toast, wine tasting, craft beer, or simply laughing with good company. At the heart of it all, I believe weddings should feel joyful, relaxed, and deeply personal. My role is to help create a ceremony that reflects who you are as a couple – one filled with love, laughter, connection, and memories you’ll carry with you long after the day is over.
