Jessika Bernstone

About me
I remember when I was in primary school, friends in my class would pay me 50 cents to write about their dreams for the future. I would include drawings of them on their wedding day, with lots of very extravagant clothing! (Looking back, maybe it was a sign.)
I have always been drawn to stories. I feel happiest when I am talking to people, or writing. I believe we all crave to hear real stories, especially about the people we love most.
I found myself sidling up to celebrants at every event I was a guest at, peppering them with questions about their job. I thought it looked like the best job in the world! Hearing and writing stories, meeting people at a wonderful time in their lives and sharing in their happiness. Too good to be true!
I felt like I could be the type of celebrant who added a helpful, inclusive, warm, professional and caring layer to a wedding day.
So I did the study to become registered as a celebrant in 2023. Since then, I have worked hard to build a small business I am proud of, and had the honour of preparing and delivering a range of ceremonies for many wonderful people, all around the beautiful Toowoomba and SEQ region.
My Point of Difference:
Word of mouth has allowed me to set up my small business doing what I love in my hometown, where there is already a huge number of excellent wedding vendors doing very cool things.
Guests will often catch me after a ceremony to thank me, and compliment me on how I kept them engaged, included the crowd, and kept my couple present and calm. These kinds of comments remind me that I am in the right job.
I embody genuine, well-spoken polished professionalism, and aim to keep a warm, conversational feel to my ceremonies.
Your wedding is about you. I want you to feel like you have a celebrant who is firmly in your corner, noticing the little things, and working hard to create a ceremony you love.
I am a creative people person who aims to make others feel seen, heard, included and celebrated. I am emotionally intelligent, a good listener and a great communicator too. I also pride myself on my organisation skills, and making the paperwork side of things as seamless as possible for you.
I have a young family, and a menagerie of animals. I have deep roots in Toowoomba, I have lived and worked here for my whole life. I am lucky to have a huge community of friends, family and connections here. I love working with the swathe of incredible local venues and vendors we have right on our doorstep.
By day, I work as a Teacher Aide, and feel very comfortable leading people. Forging fast and genuine connections with people of all ages is my greatest asset.
It would be my pleasure to email you my Wedding Kit, which includes package pricing and more about my high quality celebrant practice.
